Masters

Summerside Masters Swim ClubThe Summerside Masters Swim Club is an organized program promoting fitness for adults (18 years of age and older) through the sport of swimming. Club swimmers participate at all levels of ability, and swim for reasons ranging from general health and enjoyment, to competition at local, national and international levels.

Regular exercise contributes to good health and swimming is considered by health professionals to be one of the best and safest ways to exercise. It benefits the cardiovascular system, reduces cholesterol and has a positive effect on weight control, muscle tone, stress reduction and endurance.

There are over 9,500 registered master swimmers in Canada belonging to 260 clubs. Membership with the Summerside Masters Swim Club Club provides an opportunity not only to get fit, but also to meet new people, make new friends, compete in meets and to travel. Masters Swimming adds fun and friendship to fitness. The Club has a yearly Christmas party, end of the year party and monthly breakfasts after Saturday morning practice.

Ann Kilby is the coach of the Summerside Masters Club and has many years of competive swimming and coaching experience. She provides structured training sessions that improve stroke technique and increase physical fitness.
