News10 March, 2010 - National Swim Record Broken at 2010 East Coast Short Course ChampionshipSACKVILLE WAVES SWIMMER BREAKS NATIONAL RECORD AT 2010 EAST COAST SHORT COURSE CHAMPIONSHIP.
A Canadian national swim record was broken last weekend at the 2010 East Coast Short Course Swim Championship, at the CARI complex in Charlottetown, PEI.
Danial Murphy, 20, of the Sackville Waves Aquatic Team from Nova Scotia, set a new record in the 400-metre freestyle event. Murphy is a Para-swimmer - S5 category, and his record-breaking time of 7:27.21 earned him, and his family, a six day all-inclusive vacation on Prince Edward Island this summer.
27 February, 2010 - Meet Rhea Hurnik of the Charlottetown Bluephins17-year-old Rhea Hurnik, Female Team Captain of the Charlottetown Bluephins, knows all about the connection between working hard and seeing results. A swimmer from age 11, she has been with the Bluephins six years. In that time, she had achieved much success and ranked among top talent in Canada.
