23 August, 2009 - Great Turnout at Canada Games Preliminary Minor Officials Meeting

A large number of volunteers and officials came to the CARI complex Sunday afternoon to get information regarding the coming week. Speakers included Tom Crowell, 2009 Canada Summer Games Swimming Director; Sandi Lowther, Swim PEI President; and Gardiner MacNeill, Chair of Island Swimming Officials.

ISLANDERS NAMED AS MAJOR OFFICIALS FOR CANADA GAMES SWIM EVENTS


Swim Natation Canada has announced Tom Crowell as the 2009 Canada Summer Games Meet Manager.


Swim Canada describes Crowell as a strong administrator with solid management skills having served as the Bluephin Club president during the transition from the YMCA pool to the new CARI facility.  During his time as club president the club more than doubled in both swimmer registration and coaching staff. 

06 March, 2009 - Swim PEI Officials at CARI for 55+ Provincial Island Games

Swim PEI Officials Barney Bree, Dan Hurnik and Tom Crowell officiated at the 55+ Provincial Island Games swimming competition at the CARI pool on Thursday, March 5, 2009.

 

Participating swimmers (pictured here) were Lynn MacKenzie, Rick Callaghan, Letty Abbott, Ken Williams and Ann Andrews.

04 March, 2009 - Two Island Officials Receive Level 5 at 2009 ECSC Meet

Marguerite Middleton (left) and Margaret Whitrow (right) both received their Level 5 Official's Certification this past weekend in Charlottetown. The presentation was made by Gardiner MacNeill (centre), Chief of Island Officials, during the 2009 East Coast Short Course Swim Championship.

The newly certified Level 5 Officials join the ranks of Swimming's highest officiating Level, and are part of a small group who hold this achievement on PEI.
