Program Costs and Benefits

Program Costs:
Single under 14, pool only:
AFE, $240 + MSST, $125 + SPEI, $75= $440

Single 14 and over, use of all facilities:
AFE, $310+ MSST, $185+SPEI, $90 = $585

• The MSST fee is free for memberships of over 2 children.
• Equipment needed are 2 swimsuits, goggles and towels, everything else is provided by MSST.
• Swim PEI fees provide the insurance and expertise to organise swim meets. Keep up to date information data bases and rules and regulations. They also integrate this with a network of other provincial organizations.

The Montague Sea Hawks Team offers a program of competitive swimming for ages 8 to 18. The season runs from Sept to June with a free 2 week trial starting Sept 26th.

Only basic swimming skills are needed. Two certified coaches teach the 4 competitive strokes; front crawl, breast stroke, butterfly and back crawl. This team environment emphasizes technique, physical development and camaraderie.

The program benefits are increased physical fitness for our members while promoting health and wellbeing during and after practises. Friendships foster in a team environment, and self-esteem grows.

The Team practises 3 times per week, Tues, Thursday and Fridays from 5 to 6 pm.
All 4 age classes are divided amongst the 4 lanes of the pool, 25meters in length.

Age Class 10+ under are the future leaguers, 11-12, 13-14 and 15+ up.

Instruction and coaching in swim techniques and stamina is on going. Coaches will provide progress reports if desired. Otherwise swimmers are encouraged to try an better themselves every practice.

Members are welcomed to stay in the pool or utilize the many other services AFE provides.
