Swim Meets

There are local on-Island meets, off-island Maritime meets and off-island Quebec-B.C. meets.  There are even U.S.A. and International swim meets, MSST members can enter into.   There are strict qualifying times for each age group in order to enter.

Development meets are held at AFE, Cari and the Summerside Aquatic Center.   They may also be in New Brunswick or Nova Scotia.   Members are entered into 2 meets for free, yearly.  As stated by the title, these meets encourage practise and development towards the larger meets.

Meet entry fees are priced per meet and the number of swims entered into.  Usually a swimmer enters into a maximum of 3 swim events and 1 relay per day. 

Most Development meets are one day in length.  The future leaguers 10+ under usually attend these meets.

The Specifications to enter into other meets may be Class B,AA,A, or Age Group specific.   Times are also gender specific.   Girls are usually faster than boys up to 15yrs old.   Official swimmer times are taken at all meets.   These are recorded for the swimmers benefit.   Larger meets can be up to 3 days in length.  The first morning may be warm-up and qualifying rounds.  The next 2 days can be heats, and the last finals.

We are looking forward to the East Coast Championships in March and the Canada Games in 2009, both at Cari in Charlottetown.
